I was watching a footage of the racing event last week because I failed to watch it live. Its the 2008 Rally Sprint Series that was held in Naval Mag, Subic Bay in Olongapo City, Zambales. I love watching this race every year. The common cars to participate are semi race cars like the Mitsubishi Lancer, Mitsubishi Evos, Honda Civic, Subaru Impreza and the Honda CRX. But everyone, especially me, was surprised to see a very unlikely candidate this year. The funny thing is, it made a grand entrance. The car I was talking about was a 1971 Porsche 911 Targa, that stood beautiful in its Bahama Yellow finish. People are shocked to see a vintage car in the race track. People are screaming "Hey this isnt a vintage show", "I'll buy that oldie for my father!" The scene was hilarious. The crowd cannot stop but wonder why in the world is that in the racing track. The announcer then broke the commotion confirming that the Targa is indeed included in the race. He explained that there is no reason for them not to accept the car in the race, because firstly, it met the criteria, and secondly, its so beautiful I don't think anyone could resist, lol. This 2.2 liter, rear wheel drive sports car from Porsche has still its charm that even when its already racing with the others, you can still hear the people talking about the car, and even the announcer can't help but express his amazement to the performance of the car. Despite of its age, the Targa was still able to finish 7th out of 14 cars. Not bad for an old stock. It was running 180 kilometer per hour and its grace while on the road is just spectacular. Unfortunately, I wasn't take a snapshot of the car. My love for vintage cars was revived by this unexpected event. How I wish I can see modern cars racing with a Porsche 911 Targa on the actual racetrack too!

Today's eBay Find Of The Day is something vintage car collectors will surely like very much. It is a 1966 Ford Mustang 289. The 1966 Mustang is the first of its generation. The first phase of the first generation of the Mustang were made between 1964-1966, thus giving this car the name as one of the first ever Mustangs ever created. As one of the most famous cars in the world, the Mustang series of cars from Ford gained high popularity throughout the years since it was introduced. This one that we found on eBay shows how great the car is even with just photos. The charisma of the car is still intact, the aura is still the same after decades of being used. The Mustang, according to the owner, registered a total of 52,300 miles. This Burgundy colored beauty is a coupe with an 8-cylinder engine and manual transmission that uses gasoline. It was modified and now uses a 1990 Ford 5.0 V-8 engine with Roller Lifters. Its rear end gear ratio is 3:08 to 1 and is an 8.8 Ford with Lakewood Traction bars. For maximum enjoyment, the vintage car uses Prestige speakers with built in Road Gear AM/FM radio with CD player. Although the car is in Ohio at the moment, it was stored in California, thus, it has never experience the harsh weather of Ohio.
