Brake Problems with 2001 Elentra

I have a Elentra 2001 model which I have been using for about 5 yrs. Recently, it gave what mechanics said as a tappet sound and a check engine sign.I took it for repair & they cleaned the sludge in the tappets and fixed. But since then, the car has a miss at idle speed and brake loss at slow speeds (like braking when the engine is off).

I checked everything but it could not be rectified.no check engine sign now.plugs new,plug wires ok,idle accuator replaced,coil ok belts ok brake pump checked(without dismantling). The ABS light is on.Rear abs sensor broken but is not available for replacing at the moment.Please help! Thanks,Ravi.
