Choosing The Right Tire

By Car-Addict at 03/18/08 08:39

A car isn't a car without tires. Its basically one of the needed part of the car for it to run. But cars have different tires. Cars use different tires for different weathers too. If not, you might not to be like the ones in the video haha.

Anyway, to avoid accidents like that, make sure you choose the right tire for the right season or choose the right tire for the right car.

Generally, we use the tire size as what is written in our car manual. Thread patterns are chosen according to weather conditions. For you to avoid being in the situation in the video, wherein they are experiencing winter, winter tires are available. For severe conditions, use four winter tires.

The operating tire pressure is also written in your manual. Those pressures must be kept at minimum however do not get more pressure than what is indicated in your tire sidewalls. It might explode and you don't want that. You must also check your tires for at least once a month or after every long trip. But always remember not to adjust the tires' pressure when its still hot. And be sure to use valves to keep the tires pressure airtight.

Tires must be kept and maintained regularly. If you notice any damage such as bulges, cracks, cuts or any abnormal condition of your tire, replace it immediately or see your tire dealer. We'd like to keep your safety. Your life is more important than your car.

I guess you don't have snow in the Philippines and makes it difficult to understand this video.

Even people in the northern USA forget about snow and events like this happen on the first big snow of every year!

Smart people (good tires or not) stay put on the during the first big storm of the year!
