Marco is 33 year old. A taxi driver who has a family of four to feed. He has two sons and his wife is now pregnant for their third baby. And here comes Alexander, 33, a big company executive. He only have one son. These two person are the topic of my friend's research about the difference of status of people in the modern world and the factors that revolves around them. If you will notice, nowadays those who can hardly earn a living and those can finds it hard to eat eat times a day are the ones who has a lot of offspring and those who are living a good life are doing otherwise. It seems like overpopulation is starting to grow faster in sectors where there are a lot of poor people.
These two people are real people. They are not just products of imagination. It took my friend 3 months to complete this research and even though the results are obvious, it's still remarkable.
We found out driving a taxi all day long will not give you the amount needed to have your family live a normal life. Some passengers will give additional tip to the drivers but it is not enough.
A clear take home money for a taxi driver is more or less $15-$30 a day, a small amount compared to the long hours and exhausting travel you have to endure daily.
Marco is driving a 2002 Ford Lynx that was transformed into a taxi. It was a lot of attraction especially to passengers who has not seen a Ford Lynx before that is used as a taxi. So looking for passengers is never really a pain in the ass. But passengers do not just come normally specially at these times.
With the current price of oil sticking at $4 per gallon, we can't expect any change from people who decided to walk their way than ride their cars.
