A friend called me just this morning to help him find a buyer for his old car. He is planning to change his car and upgrade at a better one. So I think I just have to help him.

His car is a 2001 model of Mitsubishi Montero. It is colored white. Of course its a second hand, but I assure you the car is still on its great condition. He is a great driver and really cares for his car. He treat them as part of the family, giving it regular checkings from the shop and regular maintenance as well. It is regularly tuned up and changed oil. All features are functional, no defects and whatsoever. The original price of the car is more than Php1,000,000 but he will only be selling it for Php890,000 so you can save a total of Php110,000. Wow that's a lot of savings.

Winning A Toyota Fortuner Out Of A Store Contest

Yesterday I learned that a friend has got himself a new car. It was just less than a year when he bought a Ford Escape and now he already have a Toyota Fortuner. Amazed, and sorta envy (haha, not much), I approached and asked him how did he managed to buy a new car for just a year, considering that he is just a working student who earns less than me.

He then told me it was luck that gave him a new car. Seriously, I have a hard time believing in whatever he said because he has this reputation of saying things that are not true. Luck? How I wish I am as lucky as he is. He narrated what happened.

He said he was doing his regular grocery one day, about 6 months ago in one of the biggest convenience store in the country. He was a coupon upon paying at the counter, wrote his name, address, number and eventually dropped in onto the drop box. He said he just ignored it because contests like those always happen but he was never a lucky man to win them.

After six months, a guy called him announcing he won. He was shock at the news and rushed to the nearest branch of the store to confirm his winning. And indeed, he won. Lucky guy indeed.

Coincidentally, I needed a few stocks and went on the store, and saw his name, printed in bold, in all capital letters, that he really won the car. Yay, he really is a lucky guy.

In case you don't know, Toyota Fortuner is one of the prettiest SUV ever built. Having been designed along with comrade Toyota Hilux Pickup, Fortuner is a true blue king of the road. With its tall body and protruding metallic muscles really showcase its greatness in physical appearance and in performance. Toyota Fortuner is an SUV available only in Asia, Africa and Latin America, at least that is what Madame Wikipedia told me.

Transport Strike

Not a week ago, the Philippines undergone a national transport strike as major associations of jeeps and buses united to conduct a national transport destabilization.

This event happened due to the associations plea to increase the minimum fare or lower the price of oil in the country. Although the transport strike caused a lot of delay among passengers, the government is fast enough to counter the event.

The National Transportation Management ordered national buses and trucks be deployed on places where major effect o the strike is being felt. A big part of Manila suffered a great delay because thousands of people just walk from their houses to their work. Malls and other shopping centers also complained of loosing millions of pesos because of the event.

During the strike, I saw big Ford Trucks and and towing-like vehicles from GM. They are big and can accommodate 10-20 people on my estimate. Luckily the strike did not affect other parts of the country. The strike concentrated mainly on the national capital region.

At that moment, there were also private vehicles who took advantage of the situation and turned themselves some sort of a taxi. And the fare is double as compared to the normal fare. I saw a luxurious Chevrolet Optra who sidelined as a taxi. There are also SUVs from Ford, like Expedition, who became a service for a company.

I really hope this kind of transport strikes will not happen again to avoid delays, damages and taking advantage of the situation.

Spade the Gold Mist Escalade

Last year marked a very good one for car lovers. Cadillac was able to put dealership to one of their products to the Philippines. It was Cadillac's Escalade.

Although it's still gaining popularity and is still behind Philippine competitor's bigger SUVs like Ford Expedition and Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac's Escalade is way more popular than in one area, Cebu City.

Widely known as one of the Philippines richest province and city as well, thus literally making it as a district were 8 out of 10 people has got a car. When it comes to SUV, Ford, Chevrolet, and now Cadillac, are battling their way to ruling the highways.

This morning I was able to see my professor's Gold Mist colored Escalade, his name is Spade. It was enormous, but a bit smaller than the others mentioned above. But who cares, its a Cadillac, if you know what I mean. Its name is no ordinary thing, its extra special.

When it comes to grooming the interiors, no one does it better than what the Escalade has. Its instrument panel, as I look at it, is in a position perfect for visibility. It still has its refined, elegant and classic style with the mix of wood and chrome to match the Cadilac's logo placed in the center of the steering wheel.

But whats been missing is one of technology's greatest innovation and safest way to get and be contact, a phone bluetooth device. It has been the edge of other luxury vehicles for year that every car has a Bluetooth hands free link for making calls but they hasn't added it. One more is it's lack of what we call express window or some people call it as pop-up window.

I bet Spade needs more adjustment and improvement to be able to compete after reigning ones.
