The Smart Car
By Car Agent at 03/24/08 16:44
All of us wants safety when we drive. Security on the road is one of the greatest concern of drivers. But some accidents really just can't be avoided. Even if you are careful, but the person who is driving opposite you is not, then an accident will still happen. For this case, Smart Cars were already introduced. The Smart Car were originally built for convenience in the parking space. Because of its size, which is relatively small, you can park your car nosed-in unlike normal size cars of which has to be park paralleled. In the recent years, smart cars were added with some features, its security and safety status. They said its impossible for a person to die inside a smart car. Its like putting an armored suit one you entered a smart car. But enough of what I'm saying. You must watch this first, a smart car crash, wherein smart cars were tested about how will it look and how will it end up after the crash, and what happens to its passengers as well. Though the safety of this car is still under negotiation, and the production of this car is already halted because of dwindling sales, smart cars still prove that its one of the best car for the young generation. Cheap, safer than the other cars, and best of all, small. A road trip for 'two persons and a case of beer'.

Absolute, total, 100% BS. Sorry, but production of the current 451 version smart is going strong and the factory is trying hard to keep up with orders from the newly opened USA market. Euro NCAP and US NHTSA crash test are complete for the 451 version, not "under negotiation" (whatever that means.) You can check those respective sites for the complete crash test results. You are full of $hit Comment #3 By Bubba at 05/27/08 20:43
Which one of you wants to be the test dummy in the smart car? After you complete the full course shown in the video here you can reply. If you aren't willing to give that a try, please clean up your language a bit! Comment #4 S. Jester at 05/28/08 08:19
Well, Bubba, let's see you be the test dummy in the car you drive hitting a concrete wall at 70 mph. The car held up well in what was an extreme impact test. Seen the videos numerous times before buying my smart. So I ditto the first two commenters. You can be killed in a car of any size -- smart does a good job of compensating for its lack of mass. The problem with blogging is that it gives any fool the opportunity to present his opinion as cold, hard fact. We thank the author for providing us with yet another example. WHERE did you get your 'info'..."the production of this car is already halted because of dwindling sales"??? there is a 12-18 month wait for these cars as smartville in France can't make them fast enough. as of 2009, smart will begin selling them in CHINA as well. like "bugnuts" said: "You are full if $hit"get your facts straight before you post anything again.... Are you telling me that if you took a "bigger vehicle" at 70 MPH and crashed it into the wall that it would look any more intact???? You moron! I have seen bigger cars look worse after 40 MPH crashes. This video is a crash into a double Cement barrier. If fact if you look at the US Goverment videos of crash tests IIHS Crash Tests the ratings excellent. And to bubba what car would be be willing to be a crash test dummmy, I ask because it seems to me that there much be a car good enough in safety that you would do it. I can say there is for me? Comment #7 StevieD at 05/28/08 12:19
IIHS Crash test... Comment #8 nscaler at 05/28/08 21:28
In the video, they say the crash would of killed the occupants (g-force meters). Then they crash a mercedes into the same wall. They said that would of killed those occupants too.I waited a year for my smart. Glad I did. There was a story from Germany where a smart ran into a Dodge Caravan. Killed three of the four in the Caravan. smart car driver survived. Picture from German paper showed the tridon cell intact. Caravan was not so intact. Comment #9 tom at 05/29/08 12:11
Ya you should drive a safe "full size" vehicle like the 150 seen in this crash test.http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=6b2_1186865238&p=1 Ya that looks so much safer Comment #10 Dante at 07/11/08 11:10
I think the author is right about the dwindling sales. If you check Wikipedia with Smart (automobile), you will see references of the dwindling sales and some regions halted manufacturing these cars. So gets your facts straight people before throwing bad words.
