Weird Taxi

Upon my arrival to the Mactan International Airport, I claimed my baggage right away. I head towards the exit and looked for a taxi. Lots of people are waiting in line, and when its finally my turn, the taxi I was about to ride to looks pretty weird. It doesn't look like a taxi at all. I mean, in the Philippines, the usual taxi are the likes of a Toyota Corolla, Kia, Nissan Sentra and a couple of others. But this one is weird. Its a Lexus LS430!

When I asked the driver what car is he driving, he said its really a Lexus SL430, a 2005 model, and that confirmed my observations.

Really, Lexus cars here are not to turned into a just a Taxi. Its an expensive car! When I last checked on it, its still priced as $35,000 even if its a 2005 model.

He then told me the owner used to be a businessman and unfortunately came to a loss. So there's nothing he can do but to send his precious car to work by hiring a driver and transform it to a taxi.

It was sad indeed, but hopefully the owner of the car get the smoothness backed to his car.

I have always been amaze with how Lexus designs their model cars. The first ever gullwing door car I saw was a Lexus way back in 1999 and I immediately fell in love with it.

Australian Experience

In 2006, I visited my sisters and brother in Melbourne, Australia. They fetched me from the airport. At my first glance of their car, I said 'Wow!'.

It was a beautiful, smooth base black, full-size sedan. One of my greatest ride is here. A 2005 Acura RL.

Since I learned of Acura models during high school, I have always dreamed of having one or even just riding one. And it's all coming true at that moment. Seated on the back, I felt like I was a kid being given his candy and enjoying an ice cream. The seats were very comfortable. The interior designs is just WOW. The pimping they've done to it, like adding LCD monitors and playstations on the back of the seats perfectly blended with the overall design of the car.

My sister said she personally picked the color when she visited Japan, and have the car shipped from Tokyo to Melbourne. Its actually her dream car too.

We're no sports car fanatic, but we are comfy seekers. So what is more comfortable to drive, we choose it. That I guess is one of the main reasons why we all love Acura.

The day after that, my sister let me the steering wheel and I excitedly drove it in their village. It was perfect! A dream come true. This year I hope to have Acura made available in our country so that I can save money for it and eventually have one of my own.
