For once, I have been asked what in the world could a little seat belt do in an accident where the car crashed is too hard you can't even recognize it a car anymore? What can seat belts do in an accident where the car hood already touched the back compartment? In such fatal accidents, do seat belts really matter? I say yes, a big YES at that. Seat belt works definitely the same with its other name, safety belt. The cue word is already there, safety. And there are two ways how seat belts work for your safety.
The first one is the technical aspects of using a seat belt. Apparently, seat belts act as an impact controller. It is made to keep the person's body away from touching the car's main front body, making a space between you and the car hood. This space works like an impact reducer, and the fact the you are safe from being thrown out of your car upon impact when the seat belt is on, gives you another hope to live.
The second way for a seat belt to work is having the faith of driving the roads with you feeling safe. I will never ever hopped into another person's car if I don't see any seat belt in his car. Admit it, we are all confident that we drive better than the other, and we feel it safest when we are the ones driving the vehicle. If ever you have to ride another person's car, the only way you can guarantee yourself that you are safe in their car is by wearing their seat belt.
There is no absolutely value as to what percentage or rate can seat belts prevent death in car accidents. But as far as I know, seat belts have helped deadly car accidents prevented death, reducing it to just injuries. Although I still believe that all it takes to be safe on the road is do driving responsibly. Or you might just end up like this.
