Salvage Title Cars and Trucks for Sale Interview

By Interviewer at 10/04/07 16:05

Name of your website?

Salvage Title Cars and Trucks for Sale

Your name?

Christine

Your Location (city, etc)

Livermore, CA

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Salvage title cars and trucks for auction. Wrecked, rebuildable, repairable, damaged and/or project autos for sale and auction.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I own a salvage title car and also have experience with rebuilding a wrecked truck. I know the value in buying the right salvaged vehicle as it can save a lot of money if you know how to repair it or have it repaired for a good price. Not only will you save money but your insurance will be much less costly if the vehicle has a salvage title. I launched this website because I wanted to provide an easy way for people who are already looking for salvage title or wrecked cars to be able to find them easily.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

My first website was a personal website about my son who was born prematurely, it was launched 6 years ago.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

SalvageCarSale.com is what the site is about so I wanted to choose a name related to salvage title cars for sale so that people would be able to see at a glance what it's all about.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

What makes SalvageCarSale.com unique is it provides a very targeted search for salvaged, wrecked, rebuildable cars available through eBay Motors. The search is already provided by the make of the vehicle which makes it easy for the potential buyer to find the car or truck they want. Many people do not know how to search eBay to find specifically what they want and this makes it easy for them.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My goal for this site is to keep building it and keep it for income.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

This site is very new but I would say it will be worth it in the long run.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would hire people to help me build it, add articles that would help potential buyers. I would also advertise it more.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, it runs itself.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None.

What has been your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge has been learning about how vehicles become salvaged (i.e. salvage title) and all the benefits of owning one.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I haven't promoted it much but I have used Squidoo.com

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

As I said it's very new but it has exceeded my expectations so far in terms of earnings.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

yes.

What is your website address?
