My friend who owns a business which deals with a lot of bulk deliveries and pickup-ing happens owns a very good truck of which I am amazed with so I thought of sharing it. It was a DailmerChrysler's Mercedes Benz Safety Truck. This safety truck, Reuben as what we used to call it by name, is a very very useful vehicle, and is very very safe as compared to other trucks.
I know since Mercedes debuted on making trucks, one of their main goal is to create a safe vehicle. And this does it. Reuben comes with a lot of safety features. It has day time driving lights, an ultra optimized external mirrors, great wheel holds, splash guard on wheel arches, hill holder, proximity and stability control and lane assistant. As you would recall, lance assistant is a technology developed by MB that warns drivers when they inadvertently drift out of the lane they’re traveling in.
In addition to this features, Reuben also has what this technology from Mercedes Benz that sticked into its name as a Safety Truck, it is the Active Brake Assist System. The active brake system aims to lessen the impact and damages that is gained from vehicle collisions. The system initiates an ultimate brake when travel collision ahead is unavoidable. What is do is it lowers the speed drastically by automatically activating the ultimate brake as soon as the vehicle went into collision with another vehicle. Great isn't it?
The safety truck is greatly used in the deadly highways of Europe and is now starting to invade the US as well. On the other hand, Reuben is the first of his kind in the Philippines. And I do hope more of this kind of trucks will be developed so that road accidents and road deaths can be minimized, at least.
