Early this month, we witnessed the newest luxury car from automaker Rolls Royce, the 200EX. They were the center of attention in the recently held Geneva Motor Show. Although it was already previewed, Rolls Royce hasn't really mouthed the car model's specs.
But recently Rolls Royce released some details about the upcoming 200EX. Although its still not sure whether there will be changes on what we saw in Geneva, its very likely that it will all be minimal because the car seems ready for production. Sources say the production model of the car will be unveiled by Rolls Royce as soon as possible, perhaps as early as the upcoming New York International Auto Show.
The new RR 200EX is rumored to share platform with the new BMW 7 Series. Although there is a significant connection between the two, they wont have any interior or parts resemblance. Rolls Royce is also said to be utilizing the Bimmer platform so they can create a "less expensive luxury car". But since it is a Rolls-Royce, we expect that this less expensive luxury car will be under $300,000 but no less than $100,000.
The signature lines of Rolls-Royce vehicles will still be visible on the 200EX just like those of the Phantom. And also, the suicide door style of the Phantom is carried over to this model. It will be running on a V12 engine and displaces 6.6L and an output of 500 horsepower.
The new Rolls-Royce will be available to dealerships in late 2009 or on the first part of 2010.
