Car Drifting

By Michael Shoemaker at 06/03/08 03:28

One of the rapidly gaining popularity in the world of motorsport nowadays is car drifting. It may not be considered a sport by some people, but it's undoubtedly getting so popular that it has already created competitions and exhibitions around the world.

Drifting has been there for quite a long time especially in the world of racing, but it wasn't until the 90's that it gained total popularity. Drifting is actually an important style of driving for racers. It's actually a driving style connected to those burning tires that you always see in some video compilation shows such the World's Amazing Videos. It enables them to drive onto corners with easier maneuverability.

One of the basic steps done in drifting is going for the opposite direction. It's like the car is turning to right but the wheels turning left.

Drifting has really evolved. Countries like Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, Malaysia, Philippines, Ireland, New Zealand, and of course, Japan are competing for this competitive sport.

By the way, it's a different story in Saudi Arabia. Authorities are having a headache with their drift drivers because they are using the public roads as competition grounds.
