I was browsing when I happened to stumble upon an article in the JapanCarBlog.com about the new concept car of Lexus. I've seen a lot of cars inspired by jet fighters like that of Lamborghini's Reventon and the soon to be unveiled supercar by Polish car maker Veno Automotives, which according to them, is also inspired by jet fighters. But experts says it's just a rip off of the Reventon. Will see about that later if Lamborghini's lawyers will halt Veno's car production. But this new concept from Lexus is not inspired from a jet fighter, oddly, it was designed after a catamaran.
How many vehicles do you know that are inspired by sea vessels? I know the likes of the Rinspeed Squba and Gibbs Aquada are inspired by boats that's why they can run above the water, but this new concept is different. This Lexus Nuaero concept car is not develop to run above the water, it is for legal roads only.
The catamaran-inspired car from Lexus is said to be the standard of the future cars. It's not only the looks that you need to look for in the Nuaero, but also the technology that this car uses.
The Nuaero was designed by Jon Radbrink. For you to be able to drive this Lexus Nuaero, you have to use their drive-by-wire steering pad and you also have a completely customizable multi-point touch screen. Radbrink says that our hands are far more accurate for driving than our feet, so he develop controls that will be administered by our hands and eliminated the traditional pedals. The controls will all be available in the steering wheel.
It is also made on lightweight materials to achieve maximum mileage and speed efficiency. Radbrink also noted that if ever the Nuaero will be put into production, he will include the design the not yet revealed 'futuristic airbags'. Hmm, sound's so intriguing.
