Last Wednesday, Infiniti confirmed that they will be releasing a hybrid variant of their upcoming 2011 M sedan. Called the M35 Hybrid, this eco-friendly sedan will be available in your favorite dealerships in spring of 2011 and will be labeled as a 2012 model.
The M35 Hybrid will be based on the next generation M series and will be using for the first time Nissan's very own Hybrid technology. Although not quite obvious, the M35 named is after its 3.5L V6 engine, which will also be part of the hybrid equation of the car though Infiniti failed to discuss the total output of the vehicle.
The M35 hybrid system can either aid the V6 engine in power, or fully power the vehicle in EV mode although no fuel economy figures were given our by Infiniti nor by Nissan.
The new hybrid technology developed by its parent company Nissan allows to double the power while still maintaining the same size footprint of conventional batteries in other hybrid systems.
No other details were given out, price, mileage and so on but we know the M35 Hybrid will definitely be offered in both the US and the European market.
