Immobilisers are electronic devices that will prevent your car engine from starting by unauthorized persons. It is possible because it uses a safety key that only the owner knows. These safety keys can either be in the form of number combination, tokens, or a very specialize mini car key.

In most countries especially in the US, Canada and most of Europe, car manufacturers make sure immobilisers are a standard feature of their car modern models. For those car that were manufactured before immobilisers were implemented, you can have them as an add-on.

yes may be you right but i think that japonese like honda toyota etc. has a simple system as yours i think what it does is just turn off the ECU with maybe the fuel pump circuit or ingnition cuz if you see when you try to start with your card it tiurn off the check engine light so I think that maybe you can activate the ECU directly and then your car will start. Now what happen with Mercedes?? it has their own detector inside of the ECU so that makes a little bit difficult the things every thing is about program if you have the program you can start any car but there is the problem the monopoly that you've got to go to the dealer to drope your money to get another key BYE.
