Nowadays, every way of reducing gas expenses is being done by everyone. Some would just take public transport and leave their big vehicles behind like trucks and SUVs.For others who do not want to take public transportation, there's still another resort, buy a fuel efficient car or a hybrid car will be best. But buying a hybrid isn't any easy as 1 2 3. It's price is also 'hybdridly' high.
Toyota Prius is believed by many to have been the very first hybrid car to be sold in the United States. Actually, it's wrong. The first ever hybrid car that hit the American car market is the Honda Insight. But of course, Fords still holds the title as the first American automaker to sell hybrid cars, but that's another story.
The insight was not a sales success unlike the Prius, obviously the reason why it's not very popular to many. Because of it's unsuccessful try on the industry, production of it was eventually ceased.
But Honda found another way to revive it and ensure a greater sale this time. What they lack in insane advertising like Toyota did for Prius, they'll be covering that back through cheap pricing. It was said that the new version of Honda Insight will only cost $18,000 for a price that is lower than the Prius for thousands of dollars.
The new Insight will look much more like a hatchback. The five door car, according to Honda execs, will be insanely efficient in fuel. I wonder how insane their efficiency will be. But sure, the world needs that kind of car right now! Honda plans to unveil the new Insight on the Paris Motor Show, but could also wait for the Los Angeles Auto Show. Whichever they prefer to put the car in, the Insight will still hit the American market once again on the first months of next year.
Honda aims to build at least 200,000 units of Insight annually. The half would be for the global market and the other half would be sold in the United States alone.
