Japan is surely doing its best to counter the environmental effects of the cars they make so they created a lot of "green" and "hybrid" vehicles. They got the largest automaker in the world so they felt they're responsible for the air pollution, so I guess. Thus, Toyota made the Prius and Honda created the Insight.
Honda's Insight has been a Japan best seller. It topped Japan's sales of vehicles in just a short period of time. But as fast as Insight's rise to stardom, it also has a fast thrown-out time as Toyota's Prius snatched the title from the Insight as Japan's best seller.
Insight became a best seller for only a month and last May, Toyota Prius made an outstanding 10,915 sales for the Prius making it Japan's ultimate best seller.
Honda Insight made a 10,481 falling to second as the best selling hybrid as the Prius. In over all vehicle brand sale, it ranked to third, first is the Prius, second is Honda' non-hybrid Fit. However, Insight still enjoys the title of Japan's first hybrid vehicle to top the over all sales.
It seems that the Japanese Government's efforts to create a greener fleet of vehicles is working. It gave tax breaks to companies who can make hybrid cars.
Prius and Insight are both hybrid but are attracting buyers in different ways. Its obvious that Toyota Prius is way much better when it comes to quality and features but the thing that made Insight a once best seller is it's relatively cheaper price.
