Honda Going Ballistic

By Car Agent at 05/06/08 06:28

Honda is going ballistic over its dealers worldwide. Although the company posted an increased in their sales last month, they are still planning to punish couch-relaxed dealers.

Honda believe that their sales, though increased, can do more. They can sell more if only the dealers are doing their part properly. According to Honda sales for this year can be doubled or even higher if only local dealers around the world are selling Honda cars in the manner Toyota is doing.

In a short article on a news paper, Honda said they will be removing the franchise license of dealers who are found not improving their services. Well, I could not blame Honda. I have personally experienced how poor their dealership is.

The staffs are not approachable as if they treat you like you have no money to buy their car. They think people that do not wear gold necklaces and Rolex watches while looking at their cars are just fooling around and will not really buy. Plus, the showroom in the dealer near my place is a bit old. A part of the roof already have holes and some window of the establishment are already broken. Who would want to buy cars in those unreliable stores?

However, dealers answered Honda's threat. One dealer who forbid to give his name said it is not their fault if Honda is designing unattractive cars. Wow! What a broad statement. That is something I also agree, lol. They said the buyers are very much unlikely to buy cars that have poor designs and yet the price is pretty high. They also said that Honda cannot play God by just removing their franchise license. Its a matter of millions of dollars. Those are big bucks and then they will just remove the license? I believe that is unfair for the dealers.

I think this dispute can be settled in peace if both will do their job properly. Honda cannot just threaten their dealers like that. As for the dealers, I think its time that they also improve their services. Both of them can work very effectively if issues like these will be taken at a calm manner. Afterall, they all belong to Honda family.
