As gasoline price reached $4 a gallon, and major automakers closing some of their plants and concentrate on making smaller cars, it is therefore not a surprising event if ever the known Big Three of the US auto industry gets in trouble. At this point, that is very much unlikely to happen, but who knows, they might just succumbed to their Japanese or European rivals. At the height of the issue, Senator and presidential candidate John McCain told the public that if ever he is elected in the position, there is now way he would hand a bailout for the big three. If you would recall, the US government have already helped Chrysler for a bailout in 1979. But John McCain certainly do not have such plans if ever circumstances arise.
"Frankly I just don't see a scenario where the federal government would come in and bail out any industry in America today," McCain told The Detroit News.
On the other hand, the senator advised the giant car makers to aim at producing smaller, more fuel efficient and greener cars. McCain also said he is very much supportive for the nationwide CO2 standard.
And speaking of John McCain, watch this ad parody made by Hugh Atkin and Monty Taylor. This is hilarious. Watch John McBain now.
