For the past few years, we have witness how tremendous GM's improvement in their cars have been. We saw a lot of changes that happened and they increased the quality of their cars. They have to do it, or else they will lose its good competition with Toyota. But it seems like GM is still not away form the flaw line. GM recently recalled a total of 857,735 cars that spans to their other brands like Buick, Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC, Hummer and Saturn. The recall was made after the cars were found to have faulty wiring system.
It was found that the cars of GM equipped with heated windshield wiper fluid system have the tendency to short circuit. If a short circuit happens inside a car, it may lead to some more serious problems like severe electrical malfunctions, create bad odor and smoke or worse, it can make the risk of having fire inside your car higher according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
Most of the cars that were recalled are models manufactured in between 2007-2008 and is fronted by SUVs. The models affected by the recall are year models of Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Avalanche and Suburban, Silverado, Tahoe, Escalade ESV and Escalade EXT, GMC Acadia, Sierra, Yukon and Yukon XL and Saturn Outlook, 2006-2008 Hummer H2, Cadillac DTS and Buick Lucerne, and the 2008 model of Buick Enclave.
Fortunately, the remedy for the cars is a bit simple. GM plans to replace the wiring harness and the problem of the cars are considered solved. Luckily, there are no accidents and injuries that is related to the problems the cars of GM manifest.
