Perhaps the highest quality small car maker is arguably Toyota. The Asian auto giant is conquering every part of the world with their innovative concept and high quality vehicles, especially small cars. And this is the very reason why Ford, the American car giant, is aiming not to equal Toyota in its car quality, but yo actually surpass it.
Ford, starting in 2010, will be building European designed cars in their American plants. These are are what according to them will equal Toyota and eventually surpass them.
GM have been brought down to its knees by Toyota in the production, sales and quality of products. Looks like Ford is very serious about giving Toyota a good fight and will not let Asian won the fight in Ford's own land.
Though this is very much possible, I wouldn't say it will be very easy to achieve it. Ford have been tracking behind for the pasty few years in production, sales and quality, with GM and Toyota battling on the front.
Thought personally, if given a chance I will be glad to choose a Ford Focus over a Toyota Corolla. But there's no way I will choose Ford if Toyota offered me Vios or an Altis, lol.
On the other news, Ford will also be unveiling their new EcoBoost powertrain. EcoBoost depends generally on direct injection and Honeywell sourced turbochargers to wring power out of a downsized motor. Ford expects to boost sales with the use of EcoBoost and expects to have their 2010 model vehicles to carry it.
