Rumors are spreading that the first Chrysler-Fiat tie-up vehicle brand will be an Alfa-Romeo that will be built in Chrysler's LX platform. The vehicle is said to be built in Chrysler's Brampton, Ontario assembly plant.
A report said that the full-size Alfa Romeo will be built together with the plant regulars, the Chrysless 300, Dodge Charger and the Dodge Challenger. The three original Chrysler brands are all using the same LX platform that Fiat wants for its Alfa Romeo.
The LX platform is the product of Chryler's tie-up with Daimler a few years ago. Also reports said that instead of the unsuccessfull Alfa Romeo 166, the Italian automaker might instead invoke using the Alfa-Romeo Milano or Giulia badge at the Canadian assemble plant and might receive a 169 nameplate.
Aside from the 169, Fiat 500 will also be sold in United States as a 2011 model. The Italian automaker will soon be taking the Americas by storm when it fully launch its vehicles soon in the North American market by using Chrysler's old contacts.
It will be an interesting thing to see an Italian car with a German-American platform built in Canada. I wonder what will be the next car to be edited by Fiat.
