Last April 22, in celebration with the Earth Day, Chrysler unveiled their green car fleet, the all-electric version of their Town & Country Minivan in Washington D.C. The T&C Minivan is the first car intended for fleet production from Chrysler's ENVI Division.
The EV Town & Country minivans were developed in cooperation with the U.S. Postal Service. And although there is no official contract between Chrysler and the USPS regarding he production of the vehicles, Chrysler is trying to securing a government funding for the developemtn and production of electric fleet vehicles.
Chrysler's ENVI division has been given the task to develop and produce the greenest cars for Chrysler and they have already created 5 prototypes of these vehicles. 4 of which are range-extending-vehicles and only one of the 5, the Dodge Circuit, can be considered as a true electric vehicle.
Although Chrysler did not mention the Town & Country minivan’s range, it did reveal that the batteries the vehicle were using were produced by A123Systems, the EV battery partner of Chrysler.
