Rinspeed sQuba - Driving and Diving Underwater

By Michael Shoemaker at 06/22/08 02:43

I know they have long been invented the amphibious vehicles. They are such ingenious creations. I have ridden one and it was really good. You know that feeling, you have just been traveling on land and then you suddenly get on the water and you're floating and driving like a boat.

We all know that is science is evolving and it is continually upgrading. They have upgraded those big bulky amphibious vehicles to modern luxury cars. The most famous of them would be the Gibbs Aquada. Raise your hands for those who want a car boat!

But I'm still in awe when I watch this video of a car diving and driving underwater! Beware, this isn't from any James Bond movie although it was inspired from a Bond movie, The Spy Who Loved Me which was shown some 30 years ago. This is Rinspeed's sQuba, the first diving car in the world, at least in reality and not in fiction movies.

I don't know if it's funny to you or cool or even sick. But I find it the combination of the three. But definitely you cannot deny that the car is freaking beautiful. Obviously it was a ripped off from a Lotus Elise model. It looks very futuristic with it's outrageous design and it's unmanned remote control driving feature.

I find it funny seeing a car driving underwater. But it's kinda cool seeing one. But it's sick that you have to be wet. If they could develop another one where you will not be wet while the car is driving, then that would be spectacular. It's like you have a car submarine or a submersible!
