There are a lot of good things to praise in every hybrid cars that are in the roads now. These things are the ones that pushes us to have one hybrid for ourselves and get rid of this gasoline hungry wheels. But of course, like all good movies will run, there's a villain in every hybrid, the disadvantages will never be away. Last week, one of the first few electric Roadster by Tesla got caught in an accident. So what about this accident and it's being hybrid?
Aside from the lower mileage you can get by using the hybrids, there are still others, though they are minors. Just recently, a legislation was made that all hybrids must be in their minimum decibel level. Their emitted sounds must not be louder than any other cars in the road. Oh well, talk about getting rid of noise pollution in a car that promotes clean air and cheap fuel expenses.
And this is the very reason, according to witnesses, why the Roadster got caught in an accident. Witnesses said the lack of noise and low profile of the car was the reason why the other driver did not notice a Roadster was trailing the highway along with his car. Poor little lad, that day is also his first day of driving his newly delivered Tesla Roadster.
A few months ago, an 8 year old boy was hit by another hybrid. A kid was literally on the hood of the car while on his bike. He seemed not to heard the approaching Toyota Prius. While many would say it's not the hybrid's fault, some would say it's still because of the car's low noise emission. And because the US is a sue-happy-world and a sue-all-you-can country, the kid's family sue Toyota.
Both of them are at fault. You can't just use the hybrid's low sound feature as the reason. The boy is not paying attention while crossing the street. That's mandatory, and it's common sense. Then again, the Prius driver should have paid more attention to the things in front of him, including the boy and his bike.
