An Accident Causing Road

By Tony Stark at 09/13/08 22:31

I have seen a lot of accident prone areas. Most of these parts of the road that causes accident are because of wrong engineering or wrong materials used. For example a sudden turn in a sloping platform or using smooth cement on a sloping platform where it is usually wet.

And this one road in Rijeka, Croatia is no exemption. See how a lot of cars are dragged into an accident by this faulty engineered turn in one of Croatia's busiest seaport area.

YouTube Video

I actually find this video a bit hilarious and disturbing.

I love how those cars go zigzag in their every turn. Perhaps the road floor is too slippery but then I still think the problem is road itself. Maybe before the turn there is a long straight highway, so the cars tend to go fast and will not really slow down before the turn.

They should at least put a big sign of warning for cars. Even buses and motorcycles are victims of that deadly turn. What's more disturbing are the people crossing it. The woman who was almost run by a car freaks me!

The stupidity of this kind of engineering pains me.
