Well, let's stop concentrating on luxury sports cars for a while and shift our focus to the smaller cars showcased during the Frankfurt Motor Show 2009.
One of them is the DS3, created by Citroen, the world's largest mass-producer of vehicles outside the United States. It has been a while since we've last seen a good small vehicle created by the French manufacturer, and we are more than pleased to see it right there displayed in the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Though not as powerful as the sports cars previously featured here in this blog, the car promises to be a good one, both aesthetically and functionally, and makes as a good competition to the MINI and the Fiat 500 in the premium small car segment of the market.
At 3.95 metres in length and 1.71 metres in width, the Citroen DS3 proves to be a bit larger than its target competitors. Three petrol engines are available, with power outputs of 71kW (95bhp), 89kW (120bhp) and 112kW (150bhp), while two diesel motors have powers of 90bhp and 110bhp. The former diesel motor even has a C02 emission of only 99g/km.
What's even better is that customers will be allowed to customize the cars based on their own preferences in a wide variety of items, like roof and body colors, door mirrors, outside mirrors, wheels, and even the dashboard. Now that's something I would like to try out because that means goodbye to those premade units that we are sometimes forced to deal with.
If you are interested, then you should act on it now and make a reservation. Only 100 cars have been made available exclusively for online reservation starting the 15th of September. As of this writing, only 23 units remain. The first units will arrive the following spring.
It has been a very big Frankfurt Motor Show for all of us, hasn't it?
