Many have speculated early this year that some of the largest automakers in the whole world specifically in the American market, will not be able to hold for long due to sagging sales, and a hint of bankruptcy is possible. This speculation might come true or might not. But with fuel that almost cost $4.5 per gallon, this scenario is possible. Many automakers have decreased in sales specially in their line of trucks and SUVs. One that is gravely stricken is Chrysler, the 3rd largest American car maker. Chrysler's products are near 50% trucks and SUVs, a reason why for the month of June alone, their sales declined by over 30%.
Chrysler have subsequently denied this news, saying the issue of bankruptcy has no merit. The company is still holding tight and would still continue.
Chrysler, being one of the world leader in the car making industry, is no doubt a creator of wonderful masterpieces and some of the best cars on road at the very moment. I personally love their cars and outstanding designs. But seriously, though not evident in papers, I feel that Honda and other "smaller" automakers are selling more than Chrysler.
Aside from the line of cars Chrysler is known to, Trucks and SUVs, they are also known for their expensive cars. How would you expect people who are looking for all means to cut their fuel expenses to buy big cars with big price?
Ironically, a couple of major car companies have increase their car pricing. The Japanese car maker, Nissan, have officially added a few dollars on their cars. They are also adding more price on their shipping charges. While the price they have added are relatively small, this actually is setting a trend in the car industry. Because of this, it will not be a surprise if other companies will increase their pricing as well.
