Asians beat Americans in Cash for Clunker sales

Eight of the ten best-selling vehicles under the Cash for Clunkers program were manufactured by Japanese and South Korean companies, leaving cars made by the Detroit Three in the dust, according to government data released last Friday.

My Opinion on

Now I'm sure everyone has their own opinions on what the "Cash For Clunkers" program means for the Government. This program was supposed to help in many different ways. I feel as if it is only helping the middle/high class, and the Government. The point of the program is to get people to turn in their gas eating cars and spend thousands of dollars on new ones that are better for the environment. Of coarse there is a catch. You have to have good enough credit to finance the new car. Most people have these cars because they can't get the credit to finance. So therefor they can't use the Cash For Clunkers program.

AutoNation also quits from Clunkers program

AutoNation, the country's largest chain of automobile dealers, decided to end its Cash for Clunker campaign last Friday, three days before the Monday deadline set by the federal government, according to a report from the Wall Street Journal.
