It is no secret that people are turning their heads to the small cars that had earlier on been despised in favour of their big fuel guzzling brothers. This switch is nonetheless being fuelled by the credit crisis and the instability of the fuel prices in the USA.

While the environmentalist movement is advocating for legislations aimed at pushing the automotive industry to churn out only cars that are smaller and lighter in the name of reducing the environmental impact of bigger units which release a higher concentration of green house gases, safety advocates are worried that the laws of physics may not be revised in favour of the smaller cars.
