Name of your website?

Motor City Threads

Your name?

kris

Your Location (city, etc)

Tulsa

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Custom Designed T shirts and gifts for the automotive enthusiast

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Passion for cars, I wanted a way to express myself through art and share it with others.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I believe it was in 1998 and was for selling hot wheels and other diecast cars.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

All the cars that I love come from Detroit, which is nicknamed the Motor City. It is a tribute to the men and women that created a whole new lifestyle.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

The art is only available from us.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Build it into a brick and mortar chain.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Very well, I'm very pleased with the response we are getting.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

How much we advertise.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes we are ready, we have been preparing for many years.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Domain name that people buy then park to sell higher.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Time to put all my ideas online, new graphics and products are backed up for many years. There's no end to the new stuff coming. The site will never get dull.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Putting links anywhere you can, especially on ebay and google.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I thought it would get monotonous but I get excited everytime I work on it.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

It has been up for about a year in its current format, we will never take it back down again as far as I can tell.

What would you do different if you could?

I would of saved up more and bought more advertising.

What is your website address?

Motor City Threads
