What inspired you to launch your own website?

The inspiration to launch a website was to take our 'brick'n mortar' locations to the world via internet.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

1997 - Ultimatetruck.com

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Ulimatetruck.com comes from our business name.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Ultimatetruck.com has a professional, knowledgeable sales staff who help customers with questions about accessories application, installation and difference between the brands.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

The long term goal for Ultimatetruck.com is to grow the site to its fullest potential.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

It takes time, money and a plan to succeed. Right now, we are following our plan for success.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Hire a bunch more people to be fully dedicated to our site. More engineers, data people and office staff.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

That's the beauty of where we are at - we have been working on our internal systems.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

As a small business owner, there are always unforeseen obstacles or events that result in unplanned costs.

What is the biggest opportunity you see in the next 2 years?

Our company is diversified - we wholesale and distribute exterior truck and auto accessories. In addition, we have 2 retail locations. One in Spokane, Wa and the other in Sandpoint, Id. Our website provides retail customers 24/7. Lastly, we also manafacturer our own UltimateFlap, custom fit, premium mudflap and soon UltimateBumper, a front, steel bumper with winch mounts.

What's different about your site than the competion?

Ultimatetruck.com provides customers free advice and expertise knowledge about the products we sell. Ultimatetruck.com is backed by a 'real' business and has incredibly shipping options and buying power.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Designing, building and maintaining a website is a continuous process that never ends.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

It's been 10 years and the future is to grow the online business.

How has it been to run an e-commerce webiste in addition to your traditional business?

The main difference between our website customers and our local dealers and retail customers is where they live. Our on-line customers appreciate the time we take with them over the phone before they buy. We treat all our customers (on-line or in-person) with respect and offer exceptional customer service and quality name-brand accessories for trucks, cars, vans, suvs for all makes - Ford, Chevy, Toyota, Dodge, Nissan.

Bought a car cover from them and got great service. There was a shipping issue, but it was not their fault, it was UPS's. Even though it was not their fault, the took care of me. I will buy from them again!
