With the current price of gas at $4 per gallon, most Americans are leaving their cars behind and just taking public transport which is cheaper.
Most Americans do not want to tolerate the increasing price of gas that they instead leave their cars in their homes and opted to take buses and taxis if they want to go out or go to their work.
This is the trend that's been going on now since the price of gas reached its current price. The gas price is just too much for an ordinary American. Statistics shows that this trend will continue in the following months. Loyal American commuters will now have to deal with competition for space in their favorite buses, taxis and subways.
A sudden increased in the demand for mass transit recently popped out where bus companies reported that most of their bus are now overflowing with passengers looking for cheaper way to go to their work or go somewhere else.
In many places like New York, Dallas, San Francisco and Seattle reported that they all have increased number of commuters. This is a very alarming issue for a country where more than 80% of the population use cars for day to day travel.
This event also prompted speculations that the American people are now changing their ways of life and their choices for cars to buy. Most would want to buy smaller cars for smaller gas consumption. However, the usefulness of big vehicles such as crossovers and SUVs are still highly regarded. The increasing of the oil price is really inevitable.
It will not be a surprise that soon most American's are just commuting whenever they want to go somewhere else. Worst it, if they opt to just walk instead of riding anything.
