Last year marked a very good one for car lovers. Cadillac was able to put dealership to one of their products to the Philippines. It was Cadillac's Escalade. Although it's still gaining popularity and is still behind Philippine competitor's bigger SUVs like Ford Expedition and Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac's Escalade is way more popular than in one area, Cebu City. Widely known as one of the Philippines richest province and city as well, thus literally making it as a district were 8 out of 10 people has got a car. When it comes to SUV, Ford, Chevrolet, and now Cadillac, are battling their way to ruling the highways. This morning I was able to see my professor's Gold Mist colored Escalade, his name is Spade. It was enormous, but a bit smaller than the others mentioned above. But who cares, its a Cadillac, if you know what I mean. Its name is no ordinary thing, its extra special. When it comes to grooming the interiors, no one does it better than what the Escalade has. Its instrument panel, as I look at it, is in a position perfect for visibility. It still has its refined, elegant and classic style with the mix of wood and chrome to match the Cadilac's logo placed in the center of the steering wheel. But whats been missing is one of technology's greatest innovation and safest way to get and be contact, a phone bluetooth device. It has been the edge of other luxury vehicles for year that every car has a Bluetooth hands free link for making calls but they hasn't added it. One more is it's lack of what we call express window or some people call it as pop-up window. I bet Spade needs more adjustment and improvement to be able to compete after reigning ones.

In a very recent event here in the Philippines, a line of luxury cars, hundred in numbers, were crashed by bulldozers in front of the public. This is in accordance to the policy of the government that any smuggled goods were to be crashed and destroyed. Yes, you read it right, the luxury cars were smuggled. The Department of Customs said the imported cars were named after a person, who in research, doesn't exist. The shipping of these cars to dealers were ceased because the import caretaker was not able to show proper documents for the said cars. Thus, they were crashed after a week of allowance given to the possible owners to show the right documents. Cars that were crashed were all high end including Porsche, Lamborghini, Lexus, Cadillac, Chrysler and many more. The vehicles ranges from sports utility vehicles, sports car, luxury sedans, big vans, truck and some lite wagons. Philippine branch of these brands already extended their word to the government officials that they are not behind this illegal doings, but they also expressed their feelings towards the vehicles that were crashed. The public is now torn about the idea of the government doing the right thing or not. Many people suggested that instead of crashing those high value cars, why not just sell them to the brand owners so that the government can generate money from it. The idea is good, however, the government is just too tough to listen to such ideas. This coming Saturday, 20 more vehicles are scheduled to be crash. Hey! Why not just give me those cars haha.
