Last August 23 and 24, the 24 Hours of LeMons was once again viewed by thousands of people in its leg at the 24 Hours of LeMons New England held in Stafford Springs, Connecticut.

We all know how fun this race is. It's probably one of the most entertaining car race in the planet, but at the same time one of the most mean. Oh well, for some people who do not know what exactly the 24 Hours of LeMons is, I guess I juts have to tell you what is it about.

24 Hours of LeMons is a parody of the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans in France. Both are endurance races and both are popular though the real one is obviously more popular since its establishment in 1923 whilst the LeMons just inaugurated in 2006.

The cars used in every 24 Hours of LeMons is something very different in the Le Mans. While Le Mans use high end modern racing cars that cost thousands of dollars, the LeMons on the other hand used cars that are bought under $500. Definitely the cars used in the race are mostly old used cars.

The $500 limit includes the price of the car when bought, the modifications and the labors of modifying the car. Seriously, a $500 car is something not for a race, but LeMons is also somethiing not for the ordinary.

The race is actually not a 24 hour race, although a straight 24 hour duration happens in Detroit. The race usually happens on weekends, a two day period that will most likely go for 13 hours to 24 combined.

There are two distinctive rules of the race: the organizers have the right to buy your car at $500 after the race and they also have the right to destroy your car whenever they feel needed.

If you got the chance to see this race, I suggest do it even in videos. They're fun to watch. A lot of them are in YouTube. The 24 Hours of LeMons is an endurance race where flying car parts, destroying of cars and occasional 'inventive' punishments are given.

Racers can get three awards. People's Choice Award, People's Curse Award and the final winner who have finished more laps than the other. People's Choice gets a cvash prize, the People's Curse Award who is driven by the 'biggest jerks of the day' will see his car being destroyed by the judges and the ultimate winner will win a trophy with a cash prize put in a bag full of nickels.
