Just a few days ago, German automaker Mercedes Benz released two official sketches of its forthcoming SLS AMG Supercar. The two ilustrations are in typical design sketches and revealed a couple of design features for the new supercar.
The difference in this model compared to the previous noes is that AMG is developing it entirely by themselves, without the help from partner McLaren or H.W.A. The new SLS AMG Gullwing is rumored to be priced around $200,000.
The supercar will run with a 6.3-liter maturally aspirated V8 and is expected to deliver a total of 563 horse power at 6800 rpm and pump a 479 pound feet of torque at 4750 rpm. It takes the car 3.8 seconds to go from 0-60 mph reaching a top speed of 196 mph.
The SLS AMG Gullwing will be 183 inches long, 76.8 inches wide and 49.2 inches high, with its wheelbase measuring in at 105.5 inches. This will also be AMG's first time to use an all-aluminum chassis body, making it 30 pounds lighter than the outgoing SLR with its 3,571 pounds of curb weight.
The SLS AMG Gullwing is expected to go on production in 2011 and may use the name SLC instead of SLS. Here is a spy video of the gullwing while roaming the streets as captured by leftlanenews.com
