I have not been biased with the cars I used to review but allow me this time to introduce to you the car I believe to be the most beautiful I have ever seen. Call me what you want, but I'm giving all my love to the most anticipated car that will debut on January's Detroit Auto Show, the 2009 Mercedes McLaren SLR Sterling Moss.
The Sterling Moss is the last car of the Mercedes McLaren partnership. This is certainly a good way to end a partnership, to make such an elegant car. The name of the car is after the famed racing driver, Sir Stirling Craufford Moss.
This last car from the two giant in the car industry will hit the public view next month at Michigan's Detroit Auto Show. Mercedes decided to tease the audience with just photos of the real thing so I guess lovers and fans of this car will have to wait until January to see how it really look like. And that includes me.
This roofless SLR has short swing door that makes it look more regal. It has a retractable air brake, same as the one you can see on a Bugatti Veyron. It automatically deploys itself during hard braking situations from speeds that goes above above 75mph.
The Sterling Moss is based on Stirling Moss's 1955 300 SLR. It can reach a top speed of 217 mph and can already reach 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.
The Stirling Moss however is not for everybody. It is one of the most exclusive we know to date. Mercedes-McLaren will only be making 75 units of it. As for the prize, it's definitely out of our budget range. It is expected that the car will be sold for not less than $1,100,000.
