Because the 2008 Honda Fit models were easily sold out, Honda Motors decided to to have their 2009 Fit fleet be released earlier. Initially scheduled on October 1, they have it changed for August 26.
The fuel efficient small car have received mostly positive reviews for the last couple of months. And the $4 per gallon gasoline put the Honda Fit sales to a remarkable 72.9 increased. Honda Fit sold a total of 52,053 units. For the month of July alone, they reported to have sold out 12,226 unit of Fits.
Honda said they have increased the production to keep up with the demand and hopes to have their 2009 Fit fleet be sold out again just like what happened to their 2008 models.
The pricing for the 2009 Honda Fit was announced earlier Wednesday. The new Fit will be having a base price of $14,550 for their base model and a little increase for their Honda Fit Sport model for $16,060.
To add more to your delight, Honda decided to give North Americans a little surprise. Exclusively for the North American market, Honda will be including a navigation system to their Fit Sport model for only $17,910.
The Honda Fit base model comes with an AM/FM/CD player with RDS and an MP3 playback system. The Fit Sport is said to have a 16 inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, body kit, 2 more speakers (totaling to 6 speakers), cruise control and a USB input device for audio.
Oh well, this car is what many car makers wish they had. Good sales, good publicity, and most of all, always sold out. Really, the steep gas price is putting smaller car makers into the front line.
