Toyota have always been a reliable partner for the road. It has continuously evolve through the years as makers of some of the world's best automobiles. About 13 years ago, my father would always catch me after school with his Toyota Hiace. Back then, a Hiace really stands out among other vehicles in the parking lot. I seem very proud whenever I'm in that van. I told myself I will drive this van in the future.
Five years after that, my father's Hiace retired from servicing us. It was borrowed by a family friend and got it into a car crashed. My dreams of driving that van I grew up with was ruined.
When I was already a high school student, my desire to drive and own a Hiace faded. The reason for this is that I found other cars that are more beautiful than the Hiace. Those were the days that big cars like Mercedes Benz 1000, Hyundai Starex, Nissan Urban, Ford Expedition, Toyota Highlander, Mitsubishi Pajero, Chevy Tahoe and Cadillac Escalade are the ones fighting for the King of the Road title.
But when I entered college, a new boxy type of Hiace were displayed in car stores. That particular model brought me back the desires of having one. It was a silver beauty. I don't know, but it kinda look like to me as if it was from Transformers. There were boxy corners and the roof was even higher than any other Hiace models. It looks pretty to me.
Three days ago, my dream of driving the new Hiace came true. My family went on a long trip to a mountain resort and we used my sister's newly purchased Toyota Hiace. It was really good. Easy to maneuver, easy to drive, comfortable and very spacious. We were 10 in the vehicle and we can still move freely. But since my sister already own one, I think I don't think I have to buy another. Maybe I'll just look another that will give me new thrills. Something cheaper and more fuel efficient.
