On May 15, 2009, a possible world record may be reached when a 1965 Daytona Cobra Coupe will be put up for an auction. So what's so great about "this" coupe that will make it a possible world record holder? Well, its price range is $10 million to $15 million, and with that price the world record set by previous car auction sales will be broken.
If the Daytona Cobra Coupe will be sold for more than $5.5 million, it will break the record for the highest auction sale which is currently held by a sister car, a 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 Super Snake. If the car goes higher than $11 million, it will break the record for any car with the highest paid price, a title currently owned by a 1961 Ferrari California Spyder.
